06/05/2013 - Walkers take the Mayne way for charity fundraiser

Charity support from Maynes Coaches

Maynes Coaches again this year provided coaches to run shuttles from the walks finish line in Buckie to the start point at Portsoy. Coaches took the walkers in comfort to their start point to raise funds for this years selected charity's.

Walkers enjoyed spring sunshine on the Rotary Club of Buckie's annual Six Harbour Walk on 5th May. The walk covers a dramatic 15 mile stretch of the Banffshire Coast, taking in the harbours of Portsoy, Sandend, Cullen, Portknockie, Findochty and Buckie. The route traverses cliff tops, crosses sandy beaches and coves, and runs through the coastal villages.

The Six Harbour walk has continued to support a very large number of charities and good causes locally, nationally and internationally. The 2013 Six Harbour Walk is about supporting people in need and transforming lives. This year the funds will go towards helping children with leukaemia, blind and visually impaired people, amputees, victims of crime and those living in grinding poverty. Rotary International works in the local community, nationally and worldwide.
