19/08/2015 - Johnsons Launch #Bardonboard Campaign

New fun initiative to raise money for charity

Award winning coach and bus operator Johnsons Coach & Bus Travel have launched a new fun initiative to raise money for charity and to tie in with the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death in 2016.

Johnsons have produced thousands of masks of William Shakespeare's face and are encouraging passengers to pose wearing a mask on board their buses and coaches and share their image on social media using the hashtag ‘bardonboard'.

Johnsons will then choose a monthly winner (the Bard on Board) of a passenger wearing the mask in the most unusual or creative location. The winner will receive a £20 High Street Shopping Voucher.

To complement the campaign Johnsons have named all their coaches and Stratford-upon-Avon based buses after Shakespearean characters. So look out for Tybalt, Falstaff, Lady Macbeth and even Titus Andronicus on the roads near you soon.

John Johnson, Commercial Director at Johnsons Coach & Bus Travel commented: "As a local established local operator in the Stratford-upon-Avon area we wanted to strengthen our ties with the historic town and do so in time for the special anniversary year in 2016.

"We aim to raise money for our chosen charity The Shakespeare's Hospice by encouraging participants to donate to the hospice by texting BARD87 with their chosen amount to 70070 after they have posed with the mask on.

"We are really excited by this initiative and hope by the end of the year to have lots of photos of our passengers, on our buses being the Bard on Board!"

To get your free Shakespeare mask ask your driver or call into Johnsons' office on Liveridge Hill, Henley-in-Arden.
